Methodology

  • Diseases and drugs included in the study:
Recent evidence on the triggering of autoimmune diseases after the use of approved biological agents (infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab, anakinra, rituximab), in adult patients with rheumatologic, digestive or cutaneous disease, was analyzed.

  • Literature search
A literature search (PubMed, January 1990-December 2006) was performed. Only original articles (not reviews) published in indexed journals that include adult patients (age > 18 years) and contain the minimum information required for the registry were included. Congress abstracts, unpublished results (“in press” or “personal communication”) were not included.
